Lallemand Plant Care and ICL Sponsor Potato Grower of the Year Award

The UK Grower Awards were held on February 3, 2016 and Lallemand Plant Care along with precision nutrition company ICL jointly sponsored the Potato Grower of the Year award. The sponsorship was in recognition our new exclusive distribution partnership with ICL in the UK and Ireland. ICL has a portfolio of patented technologies and products that focus on turf, ornamental horticulture and specialty agriculture. This partnership is a natural fit for us as we expand our biofertilizers, biostimulants and biological plant protection products into new markets.
Lallemand Plant Care’s Andrew Gough, Area Manager for the UK and Ireland, described the strategic partnership as “working with potato growers in a number of key areas including minimizing nitrate leaching, improving skin finish and further improving yields and quality. Both companies have healthy pipelines of innovative products designed to help UK potato, vegetable and soft fruit growers optimize profitability by overcoming key nutrition, plant protection and water conservation challenges.”
The Potato Grower of the Year was awarded to LF Papworth. Scott Garnett, ICL Specialty Agriculture Manager for the UK and Ireland, recognized the winner for “pioneering developments in destoners and harvesters, Tim Papworth and his team have been quick to utilize smart technology to help improve efficiency and optimize yields, quality and storage – enabling them to supply salad potatoes year round.”
