Our Yeast - A Natural Source of Vitamin D

Yeast reacts to light in a similar way as humans do. To help improve the "healthy appeal" of baked goods, we have made all our bakers yeast a natural source of vitamin D.

By responding to the increasing scientific studies regarding the benefits of vitamin D, we have a (patent pending) process to convert the plant sterols in the yeast to Vitamin D while allowing our yeast to keep its leavening and flavour contributions intact.

As of August 20th, 2009 all our North American plants are equipped so such that all our yeasts (fresh cream, fresh compressed and instant dried yeast) are now produced using this process. Baked goods leavened with our yeasts are now naturally richer in Vitamin D content, this at no extra cost to the baker.

Using our yeast will help improve your products' "healthy" appeal.
