Lake States Yeast (Rhinelander, WI) has just successfully completed its first SMETA audit. This ethical audit focused on business practices, labor laws, occupational health and safety and environment. It included a review of our documentation relating to those four pillars along with one-on-one operator interviews and a tour of the facility. We succeeded with no additional corrective actions at the end of this audit and got three outstanding mentions of “good examples”.
