  Levucell® SC is an active dry yeast for use as a probiotic or direct-fed microbial in ruminant feeds. Levucell® SC contains the CNCM (Pasteur Institute) I -1077 strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae . It is produced from a specially selected strain, has a well-understood mode of action, and provides a consistently high concentration of pure viable yeast. Levucell® SC can be used in most ruminant feeds and is especially useful for early lactation dairy cows and beef cattle finishing.

   

• Benefits

  Field led:

  Better animal welfare with reduced acidosis and less medication costs.  Dairy trials show an average milk yield improvement of 4-6 % (1.5 l/cow/d). Beef trials show an average increase in liveweight gain of 7-15 %. Calf trials indicating accelerated rumen development and reduced medication costs.

  Scientifically proven:

  A well identified natural and rumen specific yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-1077, Pasteur Institute), A well documented mode of action: beneficial effects on the rumen microbial ecosystem (32 international publications: INRA, France…) and over 30 international publications, eg. J. Dairy Sci., Can. J. Microbiology, Reprod. Nut. Dev).

    On June 2005, Levucell^® SC, rumen specific live yeast, has been granted permanent authorisation from the EU (E1711) for use in bovine destined for dairy and meat production.

  • United States:

    Levucell^® SC is considered GRAS by the FDA and complies with the AAFCO requirements for Active Dry Yeast.

  • Canada:

    Levucell^® SC is registered in Canada CFIA 580390.
